Help with a craft project?

I am trying to find a material that would work for making a box. The box will be in the shape of a guitar. Wood would be the obvious first answer, but I have no idea how to bend wood for the sides of the guitar, which would be curvy in shape. There will be a hinge on the side where the box top opens up. I am looking for either a way to make the wood curvy in shape for the sides, or another long lasting material (not thick paper) that would work for such a project.

Thank you very much in advance!

You could try using thin balsa wood for the sides. It is slightly bendable. Good luck! :)

Does anyone have any holiday craft ideas that would be good for children ages 2-4?

um. my gramms used to do so many crafts with us.
one was like take a paper plate and cotton balls and pom poms and yarn and glue
and make little santa clause faces. but that might be more of a 4-6 year old craft.

What kind of arts and crafts project can I do involving three soda cans for children?

I’m a worker for a rec program and I want some ideas of crafts I can do with the children. One item at our disposable is soda cans and I’m looking for some ideas.

Well, you can make lots of things from the cans, but since its kids – and I’m assuming young kids – you wont want to do anything that involves cutting the cans open since that runs the serious risk of cuts from the thin metal edges.

There are some options available for whole, uncut cans. They can be flattened and painted into the face of an animal or person the hole ends up being the mouth for the person or animal they create. Craft paint, pompoms, glitter, yarn etc. is used to decorate the flattened can. If they are older kids, they can crush the cans in different ways and make more imaginative creatures.

A really pretty project is making the cans into luminarias – a sort of lantern for outdoors that holds a tea light. It can be made into a holiday theme too. The sides of the can are cut from top to bottom in strips and the can is partially collapsed, making a lantern. An adult will have to make the cuts once the child has drawn the pattern they want cut.

Also, heres a link for a huge list of projects using recycled common objects that you may not have thought of – popsicle sticks, pringles cans, tuna cans, soup cans, egg cartons, straws, bottle caps, beans, etc. http://www.artistshelpingchildren.org/artforchildren.html

Christmas arts and crafts for the kids on Christmas Eve?

We like to do crafty type stuff on Christmas Eve, for fun and to make the time go by quicker. We used to do place mats (drawings or cut-outs on big pieces of construction paper when they were little) but the kids are getting a little old and bored with place mats.

We need a good Christmas project. Nothing expensive; our craft box is already pretty full, so we already have lots of supplies. They are boys, so no angels or frilly things (mom gets outvoted….) Anybody have any good ideas?

Also, we avoid crush-able projects, because we like to keep our works of art from year to year.

Thank you in advance for your help and please, no rude answers – Merry Christmas!

So for a while me and my family did this cool thing where we make door hangers! You can get em at acmoore or wherever, and theyre like foam or something i think.. and you glue on foam snowflakes, reindeer, santa, and all that festive stuff! (:
