arts and craft ideas for this weekends get together? [toddlers]?
once a month we get together to have arts and crafts along with a pot luck lunch. This weekend I figured we could do something that involved Halloween or something fall.
Any ideas. Its for 2 year olds.
can they have candy? (some people dont like there kids having candy)
You could make little houses out of graham crackers, and icing, and let them decorate them with candies, or even cereal or dried fruits, my family used to do this with the little kids around Christmas, but you could use a different color icing and make them little haunted houses instead of Christmas houses.
Make the houses the night before so the icing has a chance to get hard. And you might want to make a few extras in case someone breaks theres, or if some of the adults wanna do there own.
Or you could cut out some pumpkins out of orange paper, and some random shapes out of black paper and they can make faces.
You could also buy some smaller pumpkins and let them paint them. Its getting close enough that if you buy pumpkins now, they could prolly paint them and use them as decorations awhile, then they can carve them when its closer to halloween.
I dunno how well these would work for 2 year olds, but just some thoughts.
