I want to start woodworking. My projects would be outdoor decorative wood crafts. I have a jig saw and plan to get a scroll saw.

A handheld ,jig saw, sabre saw, bayonet saw,.. are all the same thing.A handheld saw with a thin blade for cutting curves. Buy a good one, the one I have came from Porter-Cable..on a cheap one the blade will flex..
a benchtop jigsaw and a scroll saw are the same thing…if you buy one of these get variable speed, and the ability to use plain or pin end blades, again buy a good one, at least 16 inches mine is from Sears..

To correct something above.. A skil saw is a brand name for a handheld circular saw Porter Cable make the best ones…

Jig saw and sabre saw are the same thing. Sabre is a brand name. Just like Cresent wrench and adjustable wrench.
When you get more money and want more tools look at a band saw next.

A Jig saw is a bench type machine with a work table and the blade is mounted on both ends which make it rigid. A sabre saw is a hand held portable jig saw with the blade secured only on one end. with a sabre saw you could saw anything you want out of a full sheet of plywood, where you’d be limited to size on a jig saw.

a jig saw and a scroll saw do the same work, they are for decorative
cutting and to cut sharp angles with. a sabre saw is another name for a skill saw you can only make rough cuts with it like sawing wood in half
you can’t cut angles or curves with it.

a jigsaw has more control, sabre a little larger work. It is depending on what you are doing. The artist that has different tools can do a larger range of jobs or art work. So get as many tool as you can so there will be very little jobs that you can’t do. the better the tools the better you can do your job, or your artwork.
